FAIRCHARM FAIR AND CREEKSIDE ARTISTS OPEN STUDIOS

Over 50 artists and designer-makers are showcasing their work on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December (12-6pm) at the Faircharm Christmas Fair, Deptford. Visitors will also have the opportunity to browse and buy furnishings, fine art, fashion and jewellery direct from artists and artisans such as Katie New, Kaori Homma, Ruth Solomons, HB Jewellery and London Kills Me as part of the 'Gifted' weekend promoted by South London Art Map. Members of the public are invited to explore over 20 working studios at Creekside Artists as part of their annual December Open Studio event. There will also be a group exhibition in the A Block, based on ideas from Darwin's Zoönomia, featuring Creekside artists, Paul Coombs, Geoffrey Harrison, Mat Rochford and Necole Schmitz.

Time Out have called Deptford as 'fuelled by a can-do approach to capture the moment!' The Guardian labeled Deptford 'London's newest art scene.' Discover this for yourself; meet designers and artists in and around Deptford, whilst fuelling yourself on hot cider and a mince pie or two.
Over 15 venues will be open in Deptford over this weekend from the excellent Cockpit Arts designer maker studios to exhibitions, cultural shops and artists studios.
Most galleries in Deptford will also be open during this weekend.

ALTURNERTIVE PROJECT: 100 JOURNALS
Creekside Artists are participating in a collaborative drawing project
led by Kent-based artist-led group alTURNERtive, who have sent out 100
journals and signed up over 1000 participants. A journal has been
circulating the studios at Creekside Artists and members have been
drawing, painting, writing, cutting, folding and sticking onto blank
pages as well as working into each other's drawings.
Our journal will be exhibited, alongside 99 others, from 16-21
February (9am-5pm) at the Herbert Read Gallery, University for the
Creative Arts, New Dover Road, Canterbury, Kent. For more information

CREEKSIDE ARTISTS IN THE LIMELIGHT
From 3-28 February 2010, Creekside Artists will be showcasing their
work at The Limelight Gallery in Southeast London. The gallery is
situated within Lewisham library and is open to the public every day
of the week. You are invited to come and meet the artists over a cup
of tea and slice of cake at our private view on Monday 8 February,

The Creek Boutique was set-up with artists from the studio selling original paintings, prints, photographs, t-shirts and other little trinkets made by our in-house sweatshop team. Thanks to those who came to visit us and all the other studios that were open around Deptford -Core Blimey Studios, Frameworks Studios, APT Gallery and Studios and Cockpit Arts.
