Creekside Artists is an artist-led co-operative established in 2000 to provide affordable studio space for artists & designers.
We are housed in a former industrial unit within The Faircharm estate on Creekside, the site of Deptford's historic royal docks established by Henry VIII in 1533.
Our space is divided into 12 units, each housing 1 or 2 artists. The entire unit is spanned by skylights flooding the space with natural light.
The set-up is open plan to encourage artist interaction and to foster an informal & sociably creative atmosphere.
We actively promote our artists to the public through thrice-yearly Open Studio weekends & exhibitions (in June, September & December), free & open to all.
These events provide valuable exposure & education for both artist & public alike.
The studio has 24hr access (with security staff on the main gates), an industrial lift, heating & lighting included in the rent, and a communal lounge area with fridge, microwave & kettle.
Creekside itself is regarded as Deptford's cultural quarter, being the home of several studio groups, galleries, creative businesses & the world-reknowned Laban dance centre.
The surrounding area has a thriving arts scene covering not just Deptford but also nearby New Cross, Peckham, Greenwich & Bermondsey.
We are just several minutes walk from Deptford DLR, Deptford Rail & New Cross Overground stations, as well as nearby bus routes.
Whole spaces measuring approx 250 sq ft are £250 per month
Half spaces (shared) measuring approx 125 sq ft are £125 per month
